The tradition mentioned above has also been transmitted by Ibn Yamur, with additions and omissions, through a different chain of narrators. This version adds; He asked: What is Islam? He replied: It means saying prayer, payment of zakat, performing HAJJ, fasting during RAMADAN, and taking a bath on account of sexual defilement. Abu Dawud said: Alqamah was a Murji'i.
Explanation & Benefits

Benefits and Issues:
➊ Islam is the name of righteous actions of the outward limbs for the sake of Allah’s pleasure.
➋ Ritual bath (ghusl) is obligatory after major ritual impurity (janabah). Allah said: (وَإِنْ كُنْتُمْ جُنُبًا فَاطَّهَّرُوا) “And if you are in a state of janabah, then purify yourselves (i.e., perform ghusl).”
➌ Actions are an essential part of faith (iman) and Islam.
➍ If people with incorrect beliefs are truthful in transmitting narrations and are not callers to their innovation, then their narrations are accepted. In fact, this narration proves that the hadith which reached Alqamah was contrary to his own beliefs, yet he transmitted it exactly as it was. Because of his truthfulness, the narration of this transmitter was accepted by the eminent hadith scholars.
