Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Umar Farooq Saeedi
Benefits and Issues:

Hasan bin Abu al-Hasan (Yasar) was a freed slave of the Ansar, and due to this association of allegiance (wala’), he was called Ansari.
He was a renowned scholar, jurist (faqih), and a trustworthy hadith narrator (thiqah muhaddith).
He is worthy of respect in the narration of hadith.
Among the hadith scholars, he is considered the chief of the third generation of the Tabi‘in.
He lived for about ninety years and passed away in 110 AH.

Some people try to derive incorrect meanings from certain statements of the people of knowledge.
They make additions from themselves and mislead the general public.
When such a thing happens with any scholar, he should look at his words, and if people have tried to take undue advantage from them, he should change his words, or even retract them.
This is exactly the approach adopted by Hasan al-Basri rahimahullah.

To remove the accusations leveled against the scholars of truth and to uphold their honor and dignity is a moral, legal (shar‘i), and Islamic right.
By defending them, one is defending the truth.
If the reputation of the people of truth is tarnished, it becomes a major obstacle in the propagation of the truth.
