Narrated Abu Salamah: A Jewess presented a roasted sheep to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ at Khaybar. He then mentioned the rest of the tradition like that of Jabir (No. 4495). He said: Then Bashir ibn al-Bara ibn Ma'rur al-Ansari died. He sent someone to call on the Jewess, and said to her (when she came): What motivated you to do the work you have done? He then mentioned the rest of the tradition similar to the one mentioned by Jabir (No. 4495). The Messenger of Allah ﷺ then ordered regarding her and she was killed. But he (Abu Salamah) did not mention the matter of cupping.

Brief Explanation
1؎ : In the previous hadith, pardon was mentioned, whereas in this hadith, execution is mentioned. Qadi ‘Iyad states that the way to reconcile the narrations is as follows: In the beginning, when it became known that poison had been administered and it was suggested that she be executed, the Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) said, “No.” However, when Bishr ibn al-Bara’ ibn Ma‘rur (radi Allahu anhu) passed away as a result of that poison, then the Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) handed over the Jewish woman to his heirs, and she was then executed as retribution (qisas). (Awn al-Ma‘bud 12/149)
