Hadith 4323

Abu al-Darda reported the prophet ﷺ as saying: If anyone memorizes ten verses from the beginning of surat al-Kahf, he will be protected from the trial of Dajjal (Antichrist). Abu Dawud said: In this way Hashim al-dastawa’I transmitted it from Qatadah, but he said: “If anyone memorizes the closing verses of surat al-Kahf. ” Shubah narrated from Qatadah the words “from the end of al-Kahf.

Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Umar Farooq Saeedi
Benefits and Issues:
By memorizing, what is meant is to make them one's regular recitation, especially to recite them every Friday, as is mentioned in other narrations.
And in terms of number as well, this narration is more.
Also, the previous hadith of Nawwas is also supportive of this.

Hadith Commentary:

Benefits and Issues:
In the opening ten verses of Surah al-Kahf, there is an introductory theme, and along with it, the incident of the People of the Cave (Ashab al-Kahf) is mentioned. In these verses, there is a refutation of every Dajjalic tribulation, because in them, the allure and charm of the earth and its provisions are depicted, and their temporary and perishable nature is mentioned in a captivating manner. The heart that attains certainty in the truths and themes described in these verses will not be affected by any Dajjalic tribulation. In this way, any Muslim who, believing in the special quality and blessing of these verses, gives them a place in his heart and mind, and continues to recite them, will remain protected like the People of the Cave (Ashab al-Kahf).

Explanation:
1:
That is, even if the Dajjal appears during his presence, by Allah’s mercy and the blessing of these verses, he will remain protected from the tribulation of the Dajjal.

Note:
(This narration with the author’s wording “three verses” is rare (shadh); with the exception of the author, all others have the wording “ten verses.”)
