Hadith 4301

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَهَّابِ بْنُ نَجْدَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيل . ح وَحَدَّثَنَا هَارُونُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ سَوَّارٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيل ، حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ سُلَيْمٍ ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ جَابِرٍ الطَّائِيِّ ، قَالَ هَارُونُ فِي حَدِيثِهِ ، عَنْ عَوْفِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لَنْ يَجْمَعَ اللَّهُ عَلَى هَذِهِ الْأُمَّةِ سَيْفَيْنِ سَيْفًا مِنْهَا وَسَيْفًا مِنْ عَدُوِّهَا " .
Narrated Awf ibn Malik: The Prophet ﷺ said: Allah will not gather two swords upon this community: Its own sword and the sword of its enemy.

Benefits and Issues:
The fighting and discord among Muslims is a very grave tribulation, but it is a great favor upon this Ummah that whenever an external enemy attacks them, the Muslims will unite among themselves.
It is understood from this that in order to end internal disputes among Muslims, it is necessary to continue the act of jihad against a common, greater enemy.
In any case, the circumstances for jihad will always exist in every era.
It is another matter that Muslims will show negligence in fulfilling this obligation of jihad.
Some researchers have declared this to be authentic.
