Narrated Umm Salamah, Ummul Muminin: The Prophet ﷺ said: Disagreement will occur at the death of a caliph and a man of the people of Madina will come flying forth to Makkah. Some of the people of Makkah will come to him, bring him out against his will and swear allegiance to him between the Corner and the Maqam. An expeditionary force will then be sent against him from Syria but will be swallowed up in the desert between Makkah and Madina. When the people see that, the eminent saints of Syria and the best people of Iraq will come to him and swear allegiance to him between the Corner and the Maqam. Then there will arise a man of Quraysh whose maternal uncles belong to Kalb and send against them an expeditionary force which will be overcome by them, and that is the expedition of Kalb. Disappointed will be the one who does not receive the booty of Kalb. He will divide the property, and will govern the people by the Sunnah of their Prophet ﷺ and establish Islam on Earth. He will remain seven years, then die, and the Muslims will pray over him. Abu Dawud said: Some transmitted from Hisham "nine years" and some "seven years".

Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Dr. Abdur Rahman Freywai
Explanation:

1:
That is, in worldly punishment, even those who are compelled and powerless will also be afflicted, but in the Hereafter, they will be resurrected according to their deeds.

Benefits and Issues:
➊ When the punishment of Allah the Exalted comes in a general manner, it encompasses everyone; however, the case of the Prophets and Messengers (alayhim as-salam) and their followers is, as a miracle, an exception to this generality.

➋ Iḍṭirār wa karāhah, that is, a person being extremely compelled to perform an undesirable act—

In the Shariah, this is a valid excuse, the benefit of which, if not attained in this world, will surely be granted on the Day of Judgment, insha’Allah.

➌ And the acceptance of deeds depends upon intentions.

Benefits and Issues:
➊ Upon committing a major crime, sometimes Allah’s punishment seizes the criminals even in this world.

➋ Those who accompany the criminals also get caught up in the punishment.

➌ On the Day of Resurrection, only the criminals will be punished—whether they are the ones who committed the crime, those who assisted them in any way, those who considered their crime insignificant and did not try to stop them, or those who did not harbor aversion to their crime.
