About the verse "If a man kills a believer intentionally" Abu Mijlaz said: This is his recompense. If Allah wishes to disregard him, He may do do.
Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Umar Farooq Saeedi
Benefits and Issues:
In light of the verses and hadiths regarding intentional murder, Ibn Abbas radi Allahu anhu and several scholars say that his repentance is not accepted and he will remain in Hell forever.
However, Surah Al-Furqan and other verses regarding repentance are general, so if this person repents sincerely, there is hope for acceptance, and the first statement applies when he dies without repenting and Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, does not forgive him.
And by "eternity" (khulud) here is meant a long duration, not absolute eternity.
Because this punishment is reserved only for polytheists and disbelievers.
The statement of Allah, the Exalted, is: "Indeed, Allah does not forgive that partners be associated with Him, but He forgives what is less than that for whom He wills." ()
And there is an authentic hadith that an Israelite killed one hundred people.
Then a scholar said: "Who is there that can stand between you and your repentance?"
...
etc. (Sahih al-Bukhari, Book of the Prophets, Hadith: 3470, and Sahih Muslim)
