Hadith 4228

حَدَّثَنَا هَنَّادٌ ، عَنْ عَبْدَةَ ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، " أَنَّ ابْنَ عُمَرَ كَانَ يَلْبَسُ خَاتَمَهُ فِي يَدِهِ الْيُسْرَى " .
Nafi said that Ibn Umar used to wear his signet-ring on his left hand.

Benefits and Issues:
This is the action of a Companion, whereas the action of the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) has been mentioned above.
And that is what is worthy of being followed, as is also coming in the next narration.
It is possible that Abdullah ibn Umar (radi Allahu anhu) was unaware of the action of the Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam); otherwise, he would never have acted contrary to it.
