Hadith 416

حَدَّثَنَا دَاوُدُ بْنُ شَبِيبٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ ، عَنْ ثَابِتٍ الْبُنَانِيِّ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، قَالَ : " كُنَّا نُصَلِّي الْمَغْرِبَ مَعَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ثُمَّ نَرْمِي ، فَيَرَى أَحَدُنَا مَوْضِعَ نَبْلِهِ " .
Anas bin Malik said: We used to offer the Maghrib prayer with the Prophet ﷺ and then shoot arrows, one of us could see the place where arrow would fall.

416. Commentary:
That is, the prayer would be performed immediately after sunset, so that after completing the prayer, there would still be so much light remaining in the atmosphere that an arrow shot from a bow could be seen where it landed.
