Narrated Jabir ibn Abdullah: The Prophet ﷺ ordered Umar ibn al-Khattab who was in al-Batha' at the time of the conquest (of Makkah) to visit the Kabah and obliterate all images in it. The Prophet ﷺ did not enter it until all the images were obliterated.

Benefits and Issues:
Some people consider camera images to be permissible and regard only those images as impermissible which have a solid body and cast a shadow. However, in this hadith there is a refutation of their view, because the images on the walls did not have any physical body, and yet the command was given to erase them. This ruling applies to video films and the like as well.
