Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Umar Farooq Saeedi
Benefits and Issues: For those who are close (to Allah), even some permissible things become inappropriate, and hanging a cloth for the privacy of the household is obligatory if it is truly necessary; however, hanging curtains on the walls merely for purposeless adornment is a futile act, which falls under extravagance and wastefulness. Even for necessary privacy, one should be content with plain cloth. For a Muslim, becoming engrossed in unnecessary worldly adornment is in no way beneficial.
