حَدَّثَنَا
أَبُو الْوَلِيدِ الطَّيَالِسِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا
زُهَيْرٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا
أَبُو الزُّبَيْرِ ، عَنْ
جَابِرٍ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِذَا انْقَطَعَ شِسْعُ أَحَدِكُمْ فَلَا يَمْشِ فِي نَعْلٍ وَاحِدَةٍ حَتَّى يُصْلِحَ شِسْعَهُ وَلَا يَمْشِ فِي خُفٍّ وَاحِدٍ وَلَا يَأْكُلْ بِشِمَالِهِ " .
Narrated Jabir: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ as saying: When the thong of one of you is cut off, he should not walk with one sandal till he repairs his things. He should not walk with one shoe, or ear with his left hand.

In "la yajtabi bil thawab al-wahid," "la yajtabi" is a declarative sentence, meaning that he does not gather himself in one garment. However, it carries the sense of a prohibitive sentence, that is, he should not do so.
