Narrated Aishah: The revelation came down to Messenger of Allah ﷺ and he recited to is: "A surah which We have sent down and which We have ordained (faradnaha)" Abu Dawud said: The letter ra (r) is the word faradnaha has short vowel a (with out doubling of consonant r), and then he reached the verses after this verse.
Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Umar Farooq Saeedi
Benefits and Issues:
This verse is at the beginning of Surah An-Nur. In the well-known recitation (qira’ah) of the majority, "faradnaha" is used, and its meaning is: We have made it obligatory.
Whereas in the recitation of Ibn Kathir and Abu ‘Amr, with the shaddah (emphasis) on the letter ra (فَرَّضْنَاهَا), the meaning is: We have made it thoroughly clear and detailed.
