Narrated Abu Saeed Al Khudri: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Allah, the Exalted, said to the children of Israel: ". . . but enter the gate with humility, in posture and in words, and you will be forgiven your faults (tughfar lakum)".
Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Umar Farooq Saeedi
Benefits and Issues:
The well-known recitation of the majority (naghfir lakum) is with a fathah on the letter noon, in the plural first-person form.
In this case, the meaning will be:
Enter the gate while prostrating and keep saying the word (as it is in Arabic); We will forgive your sins.
