Hadith 3963

Narrated Abu Hurairah: The Prophet ﷺ said: The child of adultery is worst of the three. Abu Hurairah said: That I give a flog in the path of Allah (as a charity) is dearer to me than emancipating a child of adultery.

Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Umar Farooq Saeedi
Benefits and Issues:
The evilness of a child born of adultery applies only when he commits vile acts such as fornication, like his parents. Otherwise, he bears no sin in this regard, and the general legal principle is that (Arabic) no soul shall bear the burden of another. Furthermore, the context of this hadith is a specific incident: a hypocrite used to cause harm to the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam), so on that occasion it was revealed to you that he was born of adultery. Then you (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) stated the aforementioned point. For details, see.
