A similar tradition has also been transmitted by Jabir bin Zaid and al-Hasan through a different chain of narrators. Abu Dawud said: The narrator Saeed retained te tradition more carefully than Hammad.

Brief Explanation
1؎ : The author's intent is that: Hammad narrated this as marfu‘ (attributed to the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) through the chain of Qatadah (as in hadith number: 3949), but Sa‘id ibn Abi ‘Arubah narrated it from Qatadah either as a statement of ‘Umar radi Allahu anhu or as a statement of al-Hasan, and Ibn Abi ‘Arubah is more reliable in memorization compared to Hammad.
