Hadith 3884

حَدَّثَنَا مُسَدَّدٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ دَاوُدَ ، عَنْ مَالِكِ بْنِ مِغْوَلٍ ، عَنْ حُصَيْنٍ ، عَنِ الشَّعْبِيِّ ، عَنْ عِمْرَانَ بْنَ حُصَيْنٍ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " لَا رُقْيَةَ إِلَّا مِنْ عَيْنٍ أَوْ حُمَةٍ " .
Narrated Imran ibn Husayn: The Prophet ﷺ said: No spell is to be used except for the evil eye or a scorpion sting.

In other authentic narrations, these words are found: that ruqyah (incantation) is for the evil eye, fever, or a poisonous sting.
Furthermore, it is established from authentic ahadith that ruqyah, which consists of the Names of Allah and prescribed supplications, is beneficial for all ailments.
Their importance and effectiveness are greater in cases of the evil eye and poisonous stings.
