حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ كَثِيرٍ يَعْنِي الصَّنْعَانِيَّ ، عَنْ الْأَوْزَاعِيِّ ،عَنْ ابْنِ عَجْلَانَ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، بِمَعْنَاهُ ، قَالَ : إِذَا وَطِئَ الْأَذَى بِخُفَّيْهِ ، فَطَهُورُهُمَا التُّرَابُ .
Abu Hurairah reported the tradition to the same effect from the Prophet ﷺ: When any of you treads with his shoes upon something unclean, they will be purified with the earth.

386. Commentary:
If shoes or leather socks (khuffayn) become soiled with impurity, even if it is liquid, then rubbing them on clean earth is a means of purification for them, provided that no apparent trace remains on them.
