Benefits and Issues: Benefit: This narration is weak in its chain of transmission. However, in authentic ahadith, other supplications for the host are also mentioned, among which is this supplication recorded in Sahih Muslim: (Allahumma barik lahum fima razaqtahum faghfir lahum warhamhum) — in another version: (waghfir lahum warhamhum) — O Allah! Whatever You have provided to these household members, grant blessing in it, forgive their mistakes and shortcomings, and have mercy on them (Sahih Muslim, Al-Ashriba, Hadith: 2042). Furthermore, the host himself may also ask for supplication.
