Brief Explanation
1؎ : This is because at that time dates were the primary food of the Arabs; if a house was devoid of them, it is evident that the inhabitants of the house would have to remain hungry. Al-Tibi says: Perhaps the intent here is to encourage contentment (qana‘ah), meaning that whoever is content with this will not remain hungry. Another opinion is that the purpose is to manifest the virtue of dates. Modern research has made clear the benefits and importance of dates.

Benefit: Allamah Tayyibi says,
That in this statement, the people of those regions where dates are abundant
have been especially encouraged

Furthermore, increasing its cultivation is also very profitable from a material perspective.

Explanation:
1:
This refers to a time when people's primary food was only dates.
It is also possible that the intention here is to highlight the importance of dates.
Even today, in any region or place, if there is a particular item that constitutes the staple food of its people, its significance is emphasized by associating it with them.
In light of the apparent meaning of the hadith, due to the benefits of dates, there should always be a certain quantity of dates kept in the house.
