Benefits and Issues:
Benefit: This narration is weak in its chain of transmission.
However, the virtue of tharid is established from other ahadith.
For example, the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) said: “The superiority of Aisha over other women is like the superiority of tharid over other foods.” (Sahih al-Bukhari, al-At‘imah, Hadith: 5419; and Sahih Muslim, Fada’il al-Sahabah, Hadith: 2446). And as mentioned above, a tailor companion (radi Allahu anhu) of the Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) served him tharid at one of his invitations.
(Sahih al-Bukhari, al-At‘imah, Hadith: 5420) And this is a light, strengthening, and easily digestible food.
