Hadith 3775

حَدَّثَنَا هَارُونُ بْنُ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَبِي الزَّرْقَاءِ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي ، حَدَّثَنَا جَعْفَرٌ ، أَنَّهُ بَلَغَهُ عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ بِهَذَا الْحَدِيثِ .
The tradition mentioned above has been transmitted by al-Zuhri from a different chain of narrators.

Benefits and Issues:
Benefit: This narration is weak in its chain of transmission.
However, its meaning is correct.
That is, this subject is established from other authentic narrations; therefore, it is impermissible and unlawful to participate in such a dining spread or such gatherings where something unlawful (haram) is present, except in the case where one participates in order to fulfill the obligation of forbidding evil (nahi ‘an al-munkar) and enjoining good (amr bil-ma‘ruf).
