Jabir bin Abdullah said that he heard the Prophet ﷺ say: When a man enters his house and mention Allah’s name on entering and on his food, the devil says: You have no place to spend the night and no evening meal; but when he enters without mentioning Allah’s name on entering, the devil says: You have found a place to spend the night, and when he does not mention Allah’s name at his food, he says: You have found a place to spend the night and an evening meal.

Benefits and Issues: Benefit: Satan and his followers are not visible. The statement of Allah, the Exalted, is: ( إِنَّهُيَرَاكُمْهُوَوَقَبِيلُهُمِنْحَيْثُلَاتَرَوْنَهُمْ ) (Al-A'raf: 27) "Indeed, he (Satan) and his tribe see you from where you do not see them." And their attacks are extremely hidden, severe, and continuous. The sure way to protect oneself from them is to mention the name of Allah.

´It was narrated from Jabir bin ‘Abdullah that he heard the Prophet (ﷺ) say:` “When a man enters his house, and remembers Allah when he enters and when he eats, Satan says: ‘You have no place to stay and no supper.’ If he enters his house and does not remember Allah upon entering, Satan says: ‘You have found a place to stay.’ And if he does not remember Allah when he eats, (Satan) says: ‘You have found a place to stay and supper.’”

Benefits and Issues:
➊ When entering the house and at the time of eating, what is meant by mentioning the name of Allah is to recite "Bismillah."
➋ When the devil enters the house, it results in lack of blessings and discord in the home. Similarly, if the devil partakes in the food at the time of eating, it also causes a lack of blessings in the food. Therefore, on both these occasions, one must mention the name of Allah.
➌ The remembrance of Allah protects one from the evil of the devil.
