Narrated Aishah, Ummul Muminin: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ would not pray in our wrappers or in our quilts. Ubaydullah said: My father (Muadh) doubted this.

Shaykh Umar Farooq Saeedi
367. Commentary:
«شعا» refers to the garment that is specifically in direct contact with the body, and for the validity of prayer, it is a condition that both the clothing and the place be pure. If a sheet, blanket, quilt, or mat, etc., is impure, then the prayer will not be valid. However, if there is confidence that the garment is pure, then there is no harm. The Imam has mentioned "women's clothing" for the reason that mere contact with «مُلامَسَت» (touching) does not render the garment impure.

645. Commentary:
The garments that are in direct contact with the body are called «شعار», and those worn over them are called «دثار». As this issue has already been discussed earlier (Ahadith: 367 to 370), most of the time the Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) would not perform prayer in such sheets and similar garments that were also used by his wives, but on some occasions, he did pray in them as well. Therefore, there is flexibility in this matter; however, it is a condition that one must be certain of the garment’s purity.

English translation:
The laces of a shoe are meant to keep the foot secured within the shoe. Whether there is one, two, or more, there is no harm. This is neither a legal (shar‘i) issue nor has the Shari‘ah given any directive regarding it; therefore, any type of shoe according to contemporary custom may be used, as long as it fulfills the current need.
