حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا خَالِدُ بْنُ الْحَارِثِ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ أَبِي عَرُوبَةَ ، بِإِسْنَادِ ابْنِ مِنْهَالٍ مِثْلَهُ ، قَالَ : فِي دَابَّةٍ وَلَيْسَ لَهُمَا بَيِّنَةٌ ، فَأَمَرَهُمَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنْ يَسْتَهِمَا عَلَى الْيَمِينِ .
The tradition mentioned above has also been transmitted by Saeed bin ‘Urubah through the chain as narrated by Ibn Minhal. This version has: About an animal and they had no proof. So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ordered to cast lots about the oath.
