Hadith 3597

Yahya ibn Rashid said: We were sitting waiting for Abdullah ibn Umar who came out to us and sat. He then said: I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ as saying: If anyone's intercession intervenes as an obstacle to one of the punishments prescribed by Allah, he has opposed Allah; if anyone disputes knowingly about something which is false, he remains in the displeasure of Allah till he desists, and if anyone makes an untruthful accusation against a Muslim, he will be made by Allah to dwell in the corrupt fluid flowing from the inhabitants of Hell till he retracts his statement.

Benefits and Issues:
Benefit: This also means that when a case reaches the judge, then to become an obstacle in the implementation of the prescribed punishments (hudud) or to intercede is forbidden (haram).
And similarly, falling prey to pre-Islamic tribalism (jahiliyyah ‘asabiyyah) or casting accusations upon Muslims are among the gravest and most evil of crimes.

Benefits and Issues:

In the mutual disagreements among people, every person should support the one whose stance is correct, and should advise and prevent the one who is in error.

Supporting and helping the oppressor is a major sin.

One should not let friendship or familial relationships become an obstacle in supporting the truth.
Allah the Exalted says:
﴿O you who have believed, be persistently standing firm in justice, witnesses for Allah, even if it be against yourselves or parents and relatives. Whether one is rich or poor, Allah is more worthy of both. So follow not [personal] inclination, lest you not be just. And if you distort [your testimony] or refuse [to give it], then indeed Allah is ever, with what you do, Acquainted.﴾ (An-Nisa 4:135)
“O you who have believed! Be steadfast in upholding justice, witnesses for the sake of Allah, even if it be against yourselves or your parents or close relatives. Whether the person is rich or poor, Allah has a greater right over both. So do not follow your desires, lest you deviate from justice. And if you distort [your testimony] or evade it, then know that Allah is fully aware of what you do.”

Benefits and Issues:

If the heirs do not pay off the debt, the responsibility remains upon the deceased, due to which he will face difficulty on the Day of Resurrection.

The importance of the rights of people (huquq al-‘ibad) is very great.

The manner of repayment through good deeds is that, according to the amount of debt, the debtor’s good deeds will be given to the creditor. If the debtor does not have good deeds, or they are less than the debt, then the creditor’s sins, to that extent, will be placed upon the debtor.

After performing good deeds, one should protect them from being wasted, and avoid such actions that cause good deeds to be lost, for example: oppression, envy, reminding others of favors after doing good to them, and so on.
