Hadith 3587

حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدَةَ الضَّبِّيُّ ، أَخْبَرَنَا مُعَاذُ بْنُ مُعَاذٍ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو عُثْمَانَ الشَّامِيُّ " وَلَا إِخَالُنِي رَأَيْتُ شَأْمِيًّا أَفْضَلَ مِنْهُ " يَعْنِي حُرَيْزَ بْنَ عُثْمَانَ .
Muadh bin Muadh said: Abu Uthman al-Shami, whose name is Hariz bin Uthman, told me. I think I did not see anyone from Syria better than him.

Benefits and Issues:
Benefit: The above-mentioned narration is weak in its chain of transmission.
However, the same matter is narrated through an authentic chain in the narration below.
From these three hadiths, it is established that the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) would make judgments based on his own ijtihad (independent reasoning).
These judgments were free from error.
And they served as a proof (hujjah) for the future.
Because, hypothetically, if any mistake had occurred, Allah the Exalted would have informed him through revelation (wahy).
After you (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam), all judges must strive diligently to understand the facts.
