The tradition mentioned above has also been narrated by Jabir from the Prophet ﷺ to the same effect through a different chain of narrators. Abu Dawud said: A similar tradition has also been transmitted by al-Laith bin Saad from al-Zuhri, from Abu Salamah from Jabir.

Benefits and Issues:
Benefit: By examining the aforementioned hadith and all the narrations in the following chapter, it becomes clear that if a person gives a lifetime gift, whether or not he mentions the children of the recipient, it will be transferred to the recipient’s children.
If, for argument’s sake, the giver explicitly stipulates that it is for a lifetime, then according to some commentators and jurists, this condition is invalid.
It holds no weight, and this is the preferred opinion.
(In sha Allah) However, among the jurists, there are some who, considering it in the sense of a loan, hold the view that it should be returned.
