1؎: Because making a good recommendation on someone’s behalf is a commendable and desirable act, and at times, recommendation becomes necessary and obligatory. In such a case, accepting compensation for it is akin to wasting a praiseworthy act, just as something lawful is wasted through usury.
Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Umar Farooq Saeedi
Benefits and Issues: Benefit: To intercede regarding the legitimate right of a Muslim brother or to assist one another in correct matters is an Islamic legal right. There is great reward for this in the sight of Allah. There is no meaning in accepting a gift for such an act. Rather, in this way, all the reward and merit is lost. This is tantamount to opening the door to bribery.
