Hadith 339

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مَسْلَمَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ ، عَنْ بَكْرِ بْنِ سَوَادَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ مَوْلَى إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ عُبَيْدٍ عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ يَسَارٍ ، أَنَّ رَجُلَيْنِ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِمَعْنَاهُ .
Ata bin Yasar said: Two persons from the Companions of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ; he then narrated the rest of the tradition to the same effect.

339. Commentary:
It is more virtuous to perform the prayer at its earliest prescribed time, even if it is with tayammum (dry ablution). There is no need to repeat the prayer upon finding water later; however, if one does repeat it, he will be rewarded.
