باب فِي تَسْوِيَةِ الْقَبْرِChapter: Levelling The Grave.

حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ صَالِحٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي فُدَيْكٍ ، أَخْبَرَنِي عَمْرُو بْنُ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ هَانِئٍ ، عَنْ الْقَاسِمِ ، قَالَ : دَخَلَتْ عَلَى عَائِشَةَ ، فَقُلْتُ : يَا أُمَّهْ ، اكْشِفِي لِي عَنْ قَبْرِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَصَاحِبَيْهِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا ، فَكَشَفَتْ لِي عَنْ ثَلَاثَةِ قُبُورٍ ، لَا مُشْرِفَةٍ وَلَا لَاطِئَةٍ ، مَبْطُوحَةٍ بِبَطْحَاءِ الْعَرْصَةِ الْحَمْرَاءِ " ، قَالَ أَبُو عَلِيٍّ : " يُقَالُ إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مُقَدَّمٌ ، وَأَبُو بَكْرٍ عِنْدَ رَأْسِهِ ، وَعُمَرُ عِنْدَ رِجْلَيْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " .
Narrated Al-Qasim ibn Muhammad ibn Abu Bakr: I said to Aishah! Mother, show me the grave of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and his two Companions (Allah be pleased with them). She showed me three graves which were neither high nor low, but were spread with soft red pebbles in an open space. Abu Ali said: It is said that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ is forward, Abu Bakr is near his hed and Umar is near is feet. His head is at the feet of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ.

This narration is weak.
And it is appropriate that the grave be raised a handspan above the ground.

There are two well-known opinions regarding the arrangement of the graves in the case of Hafsah Aisha radi Allahu anha.
One is as follows:
The Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, Abu Bakr as-Siddiq radi Allahu anhu, Umar al-Faruq radi Allahu anhu. And the other is as follows:
The Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, Umar al-Faruq radi Allahu anhu, Abu Bakr as-Siddiq radi Allahu anhu. (Badh al-Majhud 14/189, published by Dar al-Baz)
