Benefits and Issues:
It is a distinguishing characteristic of a believer
that he always remains pure and clean.
And Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, also loves those who purify themselves (mutatahhirin).
Therefore, it is necessary that on the journey of the Hereafter, in which one is to meet Allah the Exalted,
the Muslim’s body and clothing should be excellent and pure and clean. It should be kept in mind that people will initially be raised on the Day of Resurrection without clothing,
and then the very first to be clothed will be Ibrahim (alayhis salam), and after him Muhammad, the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam),
and after them, the rest of the believers. So, whoever had adopted whatever type of clothing,
he will be given that same type of clothing.
However, the garment of piety (libas at-taqwa) is superior to all.
Without it, outward garments are futile and meaningless.
And in Arabic idiom, (tahir ath-thawb) “one with clean clothes” refers to a person who is pure and upright in his morals and conduct, while the opposite is referred to as (danis ath-thawb) “one with dirty, soiled clothes.”
That is, his morals and conduct are filthy and impure.
