Ibn Shihab said “It has reached me that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ conquered Khaibar by force. Its inhabitants who came down (from their fortress) for expulsion came down after fighting. ”

Hadith Takhrij« تفرد بہ أبو داود، (تحفة الأشراف: 19402) (ضعیف) » (اس سند میں انقطاع ہے، زہری اور نبی کریم صلی+اللہ+علیہ+وسلم کے درمیان واسطے کا پتہ نہیں ہے مگر بات یہی صحیح ہے کہ خبیر بزور طاقت (جنگ سے) فتح کیا گیا تھا جیساکہ صحیح اور متصل مرفوع روایات میں وارد ہے)
1؎: Then they pleaded and said, “Let us stay here, we will cultivate (engage in agriculture), and half of the produce will be given to you.” So the Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) allowed them to remain, on the condition that whenever we wish, we will expel you.

Benefits and Issues: Its complete details have already been mentioned in the narration from Hazrat Ibn Umar radi Allahu anhu, Hadith number 3006. However, later on, a treaty was made with them. That they would cultivate these lands on a sharecropping basis (batai). And they would be allowed to remain here as long as the Muslims wished.
