Hadith 2943

Narrated Buraidah: The Prophet ﷺ as saying: When we appoint someone to an administrative post and provide him with an allowance, anything he takes beyond that is unfaithful dealing.

Explanation & Benefits

Benefits and Issues:
For employees working in other governmental and private institutions, there is an extremely stern warning in this hadith that to obtain additional wealth or benefits in an unlawful manner, beyond the salary and customary cooperation that the institution provides to its staff, is a very grave and evil act of betrayal.

Whether the public gives it to them,

(in return for this official responsibility) or they demand it from the public,

or they try to acquire it through tricks and excuses, or secretly attempt to take from the funds entrusted to them.
