Brief Explanation
1؎: Ibn al-Qayyim rahimahullah says: I heard my Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah rahimahullah say that this hadith is fabricated (mawdu‘), because among the scribes of revelation (katibin al-wahy) of the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, none of the scribes was named Sijjil. Rather, the correct view is that among the Companions (sahabah), there was no Companion by the name of Sijjil.

Benefits and Issues: This narration is weak in its chain of transmission. However, those who have important responsibilities, it is appropriate for them to appoint various individuals for their assistance. (See Hadith 2932) This is the very foundation upon which the entire administrative service has been established.
