Hadith 2892

حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ السَّرْحِ ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ أَخْبَرَنِي دَاوُدُ بْنُ قَيْسٍ وَغَيْرُهُ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْعِلْمِ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَقِيلٍ ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، أَنَّ امْرَأَةَ سَعْدِ بْنِ الرَّبِيعِ ، قَالَتْ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنَّ سَعْدًا هَلَكَ وَتَرَكَ ابْنَتَيْنِ وَسَاقَ نَحْوَهُ ، قَالَ أَبُو دَاوُد : وَهَذَا هُوَ أَصَحُّ .
Narrated Jabir bin Abdullah: The wife of Saad bin al-Rabi said: Messenger of Allah, Saad died and left two daughters. He then narrated the rest of the tradition in a similar way. Abu Dawud said: This is the most correct tradition.

Benefits and Issues:
In Surah An-Nisa, verses 11 and 12, it is stated: (fa-in kunna nisā'an fawqa ithnatayn fa-lahunna thuluthā mā tarak) — If there are only daughters, more than two, then they will receive two-thirds of the inheritance. And regarding the wife, it is stated:

(in lam yakun lakum walad, fa-in kāna lakum walad fa-lahunna ath-thumunu mimmā taraktum) — If you have children, then for the wives there is one-eighth of what you leave behind.
