Narrated Aishah: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to sacrifice goat out of every fifty goats. Abu Dawud said: Fara means the first baby camel born (to the Arabs). They used to sacrifice it for their idols, and then eat it, and its skin was thrown on a tree. 'Atira was a sacrifice made during the first ten days of Rajab.

Benefits and Issues:
In the early days of Islam, the practice of "far‘" and "‘atirah" was observed.
The disbelievers would perform these in the name of other than Allah,
while the Muslims would do so in the name of Allah. However, later, when the command for sacrifice (qurbani) was given, these practices were abrogated,
meaning their obligation was annulled.
➋
Overall, from the hadith, their recommendation remains as a general charity.
However, it should be kept in mind that there should be no resemblance to the disbelievers and people of ignorance.
Those people slaughter in the name of other than Allah,
which is outright shirk (associating partners with Allah).
Some people consider the shedding of blood to be necessary,
and regard it as the sole means of attaining closeness (to Allah).
So this too is not necessary.
