Narrated Nubayshah: The Prophet ﷺ said: We forbade you to eat their meat for more than three days in order that you might have abundance; now Allah has produced abundance, so you may eat, store up and seek reward. Beware, these days are days of eating, drinking and remembrance of Allah, Most High.
Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Umar Farooq Saeedi
Benefits and Issues:
From these ahadith, it is understood that in places where there is an abundance of poor and needy people, it is not correct to store the meat of the sacrifice (qurbani) instead of distributing it among them.
However, where the situation is the opposite, there is some allowance for this.
