Hadith 2629

حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيل بْنُ عَيَّاشٍ ، عَنْ أَسِيدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْخَثْعَمِيِّ ، عَنْ فَرْوَةَ بْنِ مُجَاهِدٍ اللَّخْمِيِّ ، عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ مُعَاذِ بْنِ أَنَسٍ الْجُهَنِيِّ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، قَالَ : غَزَوْتُ مَعَ نَبِيِّ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ غَزْوَةَ كَذَا وَكَذَا ، فَضَيَّقَ النَّاسُ الْمَنَازِلَ وَقَطَعُوا الطَّرِيقَ ، فَبَعَثَ نَبِيُّ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مُنَادِيًا يُنَادِي فِي النَّاسِ " أَنَّ مَنْ ضَيَّقَ مَنْزِلًا أَوْ قَطَعَ طَرِيقًا فَلَا جِهَادَ لَهُ " .
Narrated Muadh ibn Anas al-Juhani: I fought along with the Prophet ﷺ in such and such battles. The people occupied much space and encroached on the road. The Prophet ﷺ sent an announcer to announce among the people: Those who occupy much space or encroach on the road will not be credited with jihad.

In all matters of life, it is obligatory to deal with goodness towards the Messenger (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam), as well as towards ordinary Muslims, companions, and associates.

Especially, not fulfilling the rights of the road is a very grave offense.
