Hadith 2594

حَدَّثَنَا مُؤَمَّلُ بْنُ الْفَضْلِ الْحَرَّانِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا الْوَلِيدُ ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ جَابِرٍ ، عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَرْطَاةَ الْفَزَارِيِّ ، عَنْ جُبَيْرِ بْنِ نُفَيْرٍ الْحَضْرَمِيِّ ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَبَا الدَّرْدَاءِ يَقُولُ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ : " ابْغُونِي الضُّعَفَاءَ فَإِنَّمَا تُرْزَقُونَ وَتُنْصَرُونَ بِضُعَفَائِكُمْ " ، قَالَ أَبُو دَاوُد : زَيْدُ بْنُ أَرْطَاةَ أَخُو عَدِيِّ بْنِ أَرْطَاةَ .
Narrated Abud Darda: I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: Seek for me weak persons, for you are provided means of subsistence and helped through your weaklings. Abu Dawud said: Zaid bin Artat is the brother of Adi bin Artat.

Benefits and Issues:
The worship and supplication of the weak, helpless, and destitute individuals, as well as other creatures, are characterized by sincerity.
They are generally free from ostentation (riya).
Thus, due to the blessing of their worship, supplication, and helplessness, Allah ‘azza wa jall bestows mercy upon others as well.

Allah Ta’ala wants to provide sustenance to these weak ones and desires good for them, but since they are dependent on you, therefore Allah Ta’ala grants you sustenance as well in order to deliver sustenance to them, and He also assists you for their benefit.

In this hadith, there is an admonition for wealthy people that they should not look down upon those of a lower status than themselves,
because the worldly conveniences they enjoy are, in fact, due to these weaker individuals.
It is also understood that the supplications (duas) of these weaker Muslims are very beneficial,
which is why the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) instructed seeking help through the supplication of these weaker Muslims.
