Narrated Simak ibn Harb: Simak reported on the authority of a man from his people, on the authority of another man from them: I saw that the standard of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was yellow.

Explanation & Benefits

Benefits and Issues:

It is recommended (mustahabb) to arrange for a flag in jihad.

In the earliest generations, there was no specific color or size for flags.
And the narration regarding the yellow color is weak.

Undoubtedly, it is desirable to keep the flag raised and prominent during battle and on other important occasions.
However, all of this is for the sake of organization.
To assign to it a sense of sanctity and reverence, as has become common nowadays,
is un-Islamic, and in fact borders on shirk (associating partners with Allah).
