حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا قُرَيْشُ بْنُ أَنَسٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَشْعَثُ ، عَنْ الْحَسَنِ ، عَنْ سَمُرَةَ بْنِ جُنْدُبٍ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " نَهَى أَنْ يُقَدَّ السَّيْرُ بَيْنَ أُصْبَعَيْنِ " .
Narrated Samurah ibn Jundub: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ prohibited to cut a piece of leather between two fingers.

In this manner, there remains a risk that after the skin is cut, the hand might get injured.
