Hadith 2562

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْعَلَاءِ ، أَخْبَرَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ آدَمَ ، عَنْ قُطْبَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ بْنِ سِيَاهٍ ، عَنْ الْأَعْمَشِ ، عَنْ أَبِي يَحْيَى الْقَتَّاتِ ، عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ ،عَنْ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، قَالَ : " نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنِ التَّحْرِيشِ بَيْنَ الْبَهَائِمِ " .
Narrated Abdullah ibn Abbas: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ prohibited to provoke the beasts for fighting.

Benefits and Issues:
With regard to its chain of narration, this narration is weak.
However, in terms of meaning, the matter is indeed as stated.
That this action, in any way, is not befitting of honorable people.
The general public should also be discouraged from it.
And when making animals fight is prohibited,
then causing people to fight among themselves is an even worse trait.

Explanation:
1:
The reason for the prohibition is that it causes pain and fatigue to the animals,
and furthermore, no benefit is derived from this action,
rather, it is among futile and meaningless acts.
