Aishah said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to wash his head with marsh-mallow while he was sexually defiled. It was sufficient for him and he did not pour water upon it.

256. Commentary: This narration is weak; therefore, when washing the head with soap, shampoo, and similar items, the use of water is indispensable. Attaining purification (taharah) is not possible without water.
