Hadith 2545

حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ مَعِينٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا حُسَيْنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ ، عَنْ شَيْبَانَ ، عَنْ عِيسَى بْنِ عَلِيٍّ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ جَدِّهِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " يُمْنُ الْخَيْلِ فِي شُقْرِهَا " .
Narrated Abdullah ibn Abbas: The Prophet ﷺ said: The most favoured horses are the sorrel.

When it comes to the selection and choice of horses, it is recommended (mustahabb) to take into consideration the aforementioned qualities.
From this, it is also deduced that when acquiring other instruments of jihad, their apparent virtues and excellent performance should be kept in view.
