Shaykh Umar Farooq Saeedi
Benefits and Issues:
➊
This refers to the wealth that would come to the Ka'bah as a vow and would be accumulated there.
➋
One should act with courage in expressing and clarifying the truth.
Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, has placed strength in it.
And a person of sound nature cannot deny it.
➌
A narration with the same meaning is found in Sahih al-Bukhari.
This supports this narration.

Maulana Ataullah Sajid
Benefits and Issues:
➊
The mentioned narration has been declared weak in its chain by our esteemed researcher, and he further writes that the narration of Sahih Bukhari suffices in this regard.
In addition, other scholars have declared it authentic; therefore, despite the mentioned narration being weak in its chain, it is acceptable as evidence due to other supporting narrations.
For further details, see: (al-Mawsu‘ah al-Hadithiyyah, Musnad al-Imam Ahmad: 24/102, 103 and Sunan Ibn Majah with the verification of Dr. Bashar ‘Awwad, Hadith: 3116)
➋
Before Islam, people used to send gold, silver, and cash to the Ka‘bah for the pleasure of Allah.
This practice continued even after Islam.
Through this, the expenses related to the Sacred Ka‘bah were met, and surplus wealth would accumulate. (Nayl al-Awtar: 6/36)
➌
It is narrated from Umm al-Mu’minin ‘A’ishah radi Allahu anha that the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said:
“If your people had not only recently left disbelief, I would have spent the treasure of the Ka‘bah in the way of Allah, made its door at ground level, and included the Hatim within it.” (Sahih Muslim, Book of Hajj, Chapter: Demolishing and Rebuilding the Ka‘bah, Hadith: 1333)
Therefore, the opinion of ‘Umar radi Allahu anhu is correct.
It is possible that this hadith did not reach him, which is why he accepted the opinion of Shaybah.
➍
‘Umar radi Allahu anhu was very considerate of poor Muslims; Muslim rulers should be the same.
➎
Shaybah radi Allahu anhu strongly opposed the proposal of ‘Umar radi Allahu anhu because they were courageous and truthful people, and Umm al-Mu’minin was one who could bear criticism.
➏
A bright aspect of the character of ‘Umar radi Allahu anhu is that he would not deviate in the slightest from the statements and actions of the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam.
Moreover, if he felt that his opinion was incorrect, he would immediately retract and accept what was correct.
