Hadith 2026

حَدَّثَنَا زُهَيْرُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا جَرِيرٌ ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبِي زِيَادٍ ، عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ صَفْوَانَ ، قَالَ : قُلْتُ لِعُمَرَ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ : كَيْفَ صَنَعَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حِينَ دَخَلَ الْكَعْبَةَ ؟ قَالَ : " صَلَّى رَكْعَتَيْنِ " .
Abd Al Rahman bin Safwan said “I asked Umar bin Al Khattab How did the Messenger of Allah ﷺ do when he entered the Kaabah? He said “He offered two rak’ahs of prayer. ”

Explanation & Benefits

Benefits and Issues:
Whoever gets the opportunity to enter the Ka'bah,
it is recommended (mustahabb) for him to perform two units (rak‘ah) of prayer there.
And whoever does not get the opportunity,
he may pray inside the Hatim,
for that too is a part of the Ka'bah.
And perhaps this was the wisdom of Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, that from the beginning this part was left open and was not constructed.
In this way, every Muslim always has the facility to pray inside the Ka'bah.
And all praise is due to Allah for that.
