Narrated Abdullah ibn Abbas: The Prophet ﷺ said: Shaving is not a duty laid on women; only clipping the hair is incumbent on them.

1985. Commentary: For women, trimming the hair is also permissible only to the extent that the Shari'ah ruling is fulfilled. Otherwise, reaching the extent of resembling men is forbidden. Similarly, shaving the head is also impermissible.

Ibn Abbas (RAA) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: "Women (pilgrims) do not have to shave (their heads); they may only shorten their hair." Related by Abu Dawud with a good chain of narrators.

634 Benefit: From this hadith, it is understood that women should not shave their head hair, but rather only trim them, and the scholars are unanimous that for them, trimming the hair is what is legislated.
