يَحْيَى ، عَنْ
شُعْبَةَ بِمَعْنَاهُ ، قَالَ : عَرِّفْهَا حَوْلًا ، وَقَالَ ثَلَاثَ مِرَارٍ ، قَالَ : فَلَا أَدْرِي قَالَ لَهُ ذَلِكَ فِي سَنَةٍ أَوْ فِي ثَلَاثِ سِنِينَ .
The aforesaid tradition has also been transmitted by Shubah through a different chain of narrators to the same effect. The version goes: He said: Make it known for a year. He said this three times. He said: I do not know whether he said “for a year” or “for three years”.

1702. Commentary: Due to the differences among the narrators, there is also a difference among the scholars regarding the duration of the announcement. However, there is consensus among all that the announcement should be made for at least one year.
