Narrated AbulYusr: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to supplicate: "O Allah, I seek refuge in Thee from my house falling on me, I seek refuge in Thee from falling into an abyss, I seek refuge in Thee from drowning burning and decrepitude. I seek refuge in Thee from the devil harming me at the time of my death, I seek refuge in Thee from dying in Thy path while retreating, and I seek refuge in Thee from dying of the sting of a poisonous creature. 1552. Commentary: This supplication and other similar supplications are for the instruction of the Ummah; otherwise, the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) was protected from turning his back in jihad and from Satan, and likewise, he was protected from severe types of illnesses.
